Our Love Story
How we met
Groom- I met Onyinye through a mutual friend who told me about her and sent me her picture, I looked at her picture and I couldn't take my eyes off, so I requested for her phone number, sent her a message, the following day I called her, the first time we spoke I introduced myself and she sounded so civil, intelligent and mature, the conversation was smooth.
Subsequently, I tried to reach her a couple of times and noticed she was ghosting me, She was always making excuses for not wanting to talk. I had already made my choice, i just needed to convince her too so i remained consistent. Gradually, I won her over and she became more receptive.
We made arrangements to meet and the day I saw her, I was convinced I made the right choice.
Observing the various facets of her qualities like her resilience and strength sealed the deal for me.
Bride - early last year, I got a dm from someone which I responded to, he introduced himself though I didn’t read much meaning to it because I assumed it was one of those messages. A few days later, my phone rings and there is this guy with a deep baritone voice and he mentioned he got my contact from a friend, we talked a bit, but then i just made a mental note not to assume anything. I checked him out on social media and I said oh, okay .
We stayed in touch electronically because of the distance. A couple of weeks later he called me and switched it to video call, he smiled and said- you look good. In my mind I am like this line but I just muttered a thank you. At that point i had some milestones I was trying to reach coupled with work so I would always tell him I was busy when he tries to reach out. Despite being busy with his own job as well, he was consistent and kind. On our first physical meeting, he said he liked me a lot, I was apprehensive at first, in my mind I said let’s see how that goes...
I noticed he was spiritually minded, humble and kind. Gradually, we started bonding and the rest is history.
The Proposal
In October, at the Milton Hotel in Manchester, I asked her to marry me, she smiled and she said yes.
